随分前のことになるがある出版社からでている「Web ○○○○○○」という雑誌に自分の写真がでているのを見つけた。

イベントにいったときに撮影されたもののようだが特集ページで講演者よりも大きく掲載されていた。
これをみて編集部に

「自分がでている写真が掲載されているのだけれど、この写真もらえますか」

と問い合わせたらバカにしたような文面で

「写真はカメラマンに著作権があるためできません」

との返事があった。
著作権云々の前にあんたの雑誌に出ているのは「オレ」なんだけどな。

そこで

「ではカメラマンと直接交渉するのでカメラマンの連絡先を教えてください」

と再度連絡すると以後、連絡は途絶えた。

肖像権といってもまあイベントなので開催要項に写真を使わせてもらう云々の文言があるから、といった言い訳があるのだろう。しかし、重要なのはそこではない。事後の対応である。人としての対話すらできない人間がフロントに立って外部との窓口を努めていることに大きな問題がある。

気に入っていた雑誌なだけにこうした心ない対応は非常に残念である。

とはいえ多くのメディア運営者の意識とはこの程度のものなのだろう。
